.Writing of tho donatious to tho Solway I Fund, nvhich. were mado by tho Mastertpn A. and P. Association nt tho ram fair; on -Thursday, tho "Age" sayst— "Mr. E. Short, tho, well-known Parorang; breeder, and Mr. W. 1). Allen, of tho lahttaJii, <ach contributed 'a stud ram, and tho'trustees of tho la to I). M Master a shew bullock. Mr. A. W. Cave, - tho -patron• of tho association, supplemented ■ theso donations with a chcqus for 25 guineas, which brought tho grand total up to 203' guineas. The ram presented by Mr. Short realised 150 Kninens, tho' purchaser being Mr. Arthur 1. Close, of Kcrauera, Hay of Islands. Bidding for tho ram was started, at 100 guineas, and ultimately reached the magnificent -sum'- of 150' guineas. The : ram presented by Mr. \Y. B. Allen, of Clarevil'.e, was purchased and'.resold several times, , tho association benefiting by th« handsomo amount of 48 guineas. Tho bullock presented by tho trustees of tho lateiD.'.Sl'Master realikd 9 guineas."
