If thg wind is southerly, denoted by. a red flag, the regatta- will l>e rowed on the. southerly course, and ■'.he steamer will sail at the Taranafci Street Wharf between - erjch race. . Tho Lis event, the Senior Fours, starts at 2.30 p.m. • Probably no higher grado. crews than the contestants in this race havo ever come together on tho harbour—certainly not of late., years—although tho doughty Union crew, of Wangauui, is favourite,. tho Blenheim quartet, who raccd second to tho champions in the big Australasian championship in Hobart last year, havo , plenty .of supporters,. while the other two entrants, Chri&tchurch Union'and l'icton, have both-won big races this season, and are considered to bo rigit in the hunt. This raco starts off Point Halswell, and finishes between the Queen's and Taranaki Street Wharves on tho town course, and on the northerly starts at Ngahauranga and finishes off Korokoro.
