• ' RECOMMENDATIONS.:' (By Telccraph—Press Association.) Dunedin, February 13. At the conference of'the Congregational Union to-day the Ministers' Conference, which met on Saturday, made the'following recommendations:— That a committee be set up to draft a programme within the next .month', and submit the same to a committee of the union, , i ... That the committee act in collaboration with the Auckland members. That the. qommittce consist of Wellington ministers and equal-number of-lay-men. That as to tho question of delegation to tho union meetings, the matter be left to the Rev. J. 11. Glasson and Mr. Beaven to 'submit the same to the Reference Committee. . That ministers be requested to ask from the members" of theic churches suggestions as to a.church hymn book, and send on tho suggestions to tho member of the Book Committe3 in their own district within a fortnight after the close of the council. : That it bo a recommendation to~ the •cvoral districts to hold an annual district conference during the winter months. ■ It wag contended thqt, the holding of an annual district conferenoe would be very, beneficial to the union. 'It was pointed out, however, that the union should not. be called upon'to bear, any expense of tho holding of such conferences. The recommendations were adopted. Tho question of tho disposal of . thoOamaru property was discussed. Tho gen-eral opinion appeared to N» that with- " al from Oamaru was a bad mistake. Several members expressed the opinion that it would be unwise to dispose of tho property. The! matter was referred to the Finance Committee for a report. In the afternoon a conference of lady delegates was held. It was'decided to recommend ttyat at tha next annual meotinir nf the council a ladies' meeting be arranged. • In the evening the Rev. Mr. Hunt (Timaru) 'gave .an address on "The new age in Christian missions; its problems ami •promise."
