The Labour Conjcrenco negatived a motion' to the effect.that Labour members should contribute '.£lO annually to the funds of tho Labour League in their elec- . torates, also two and a half per cent, of , the moneys received by them as members ' of Commissions. carried a motion that , .the .Government establish a furniture factory for tho manufacture of furniture required for Government offices, also to supply wage-earners on the instalment plan. ', A motion* was carried affirming the desirableness of * abolishing capital punishment in favour, of perpetual impri«innicnr, the mover, contending that hang- , iig was no deterrent to crime.
