Consequent upon ';■ tho transfer of the head office for New Zealand of tho Atlas Assurance Company, Ltd., to Melbourne, the position of manager of the Wellington district has been conferred upon ■Mr .Thomas W. Pilchor, .who has been connected with the company for the last fivo years in the capacity of chiof clerk in Wellington. Previous to this, he was manager of the Manchester Assurance Company, and formerly with the Standard Insurance Company,which he joined in 1885. .".,',
