■ Tho cororaittcs of tho District Nursing Guild of St.John met yesterday aftercoon ' for the first time niter tho holiday vacation, when tho following member's wero present Mrs. S. A .Rhodes (Lady of tho . Order of St. John), Mesdamcs ' 'Sfoorhouso, Trip?. Corrigan, Preston, Miss -Robieson, and _ Mrs. Fisher (hon. secretary ). Apologies for absence wero received fron'i' Mrs. E. Balcombe'Brown and Mrs. J; P. Luke. Tho senior nurso sub-mitted-reports for December and January, which 'showed that Nurses Sexton and Macandrew had been indefatigable in their rllorls to alleviato sickness nnd distress among . the poor of Wellington. Additional.patients worn registered, some wero discharged as convalescent, and others wero token to tho General Hospital and Ohiro Homo. Tho last offices wero performed in three cases. Gifts for tho Christmas treat, and comforts, etc., wero rent to the. nurses for tho sick poor by a number of ladies, for which tho committee desires to record its-most grateful thank?. Tho sum of XI 12s. Cd. was feat by a, number of youni: ladies who are pupils of Nga Tnwn School, conducted ny .Ml". 1 ! Taylor, and this will bo expended on various emergency requirements for the district patients.
