MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
(Before kr. AV. G. Eiddell, S.M.) There was a very short list at the Magistrate's Court on Saturday' morning, tho whole of the business beinij disposed of in a few minutes. Adolf Groi's, a Swiss, charged with being an idle and disorderly person, was unable to understand the charge as read to him, and he was lw.anded until this morning in order that the services of an interpreter might bo secured. George. Perrin, on a charge of drunkenness, was fined 10s., in default 4S hours' inijrisonnicut. A iirstoffendin'g'inuebriate, who had been remanded for a week- for curative treatment was ordered to pay 17s. 6d. medical expenses'- or -.undergo 48 hours' imprisonment. : Another first* - offender was fined 55., with the alternative of 24 . hours' 'imprisonment, and a third, who did not appear, was ordered to forfeit iiis bail of, 10s.
