The Prime Minister , (Sir J. G. Ward) mado a motor-car tour from Auckland yesterday to Pukekohe, taking in many tc.wnships on . the . way. A man arrived in custody from Auckland yesterday and will ■ appear at the Magistrate's Court this morning on three charges of theft of money received by him in terms requiring him to account for same to his employer. The Ohariu School Committee, which recently resigned in a body as a protest ngninst the action of the Wellington Education Board in declining'to accede to its request for a new school building, has now withdrawn its resignation. Referring to tho matter at the meeting of tho Education lioard yesterday, the chairman (Mr. Robert Lee) remarked that tho committee's withdrawal of its resignation could be interpreted as an expression of satisfaction with the manner in which the present school building had lieon repaired. The old school was still in a sound condition on the whole, despite tho impression created by a recent exhibition in tho board room, pf some "rotten old tusks," which were then alleged to be a fair sample'of the school piles. ' Miss Kato Stewart, of the Langer Dresscutting School, advertises that classes ltnvo been resumed. Pupils are requested to enrol early.
