Y.M.C.A. BOYS' DEPARTMENT.
Last Thursday evening .Colonel. Robin paid a, visit to the Boys'. Department of tho Y.M.C.A., having been invited to address tho lads and to open the shooting range. Unfortunately ./ the -boisterous weather prevented a good attendance, and so the colonel kindly to come another . even'hg. Ho is to • perform tho ceremony on Friday- this weekj when a combined meeting' will be held. Tho. speaker for Friday last 'Ivas Mr. Fraser, qf the superannuation department. Hi gave an interesting address on "Hannibal," about 25 being present.
On Saturday evening the boys who went to Christchurch at Christmas met together for-the second time. They drew up the rules of a club to be called tho C.C.X.T. Club. The.'ttbject of tho-club is is foster good fellowship between all members of the boys' department, to meet for social enjoyment, and to cultivate a Christian -atmosphere. . Mr:" Viol'Talder, 'tf' iri'embbr, 'leaves on Tuesday for .his new home at Stratford. A diving competition is to bo held on Wednesday and a 50 yards test raco on Friday—both at 5.30 p.m. Mr. Sommerville will- act as judge.
