DUKE OF CONNAUGHT TO GO - TO CANADA. —4 By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyrlebt London, January 29. The Duke of Connauglit will go to Canada in September as. GovernorCtencr.il for two years. The term will be subject to an extension. "A PERSONALITY." (Rec. January 31, 0.58 a.m.) London, January 30. The "Telegraph" states that the Duke of Connaught has a personality, and in a ruler it is personality that counts. The "Morning I'ost" declares that the appointment is a two years' experiment, to be inaugurated by an extremely popular prince.
Like his nephew King George, the Duke of Conijaught is devoted to his home and his family, and loves to have his children about him. In tho Duchess lie lias a real comrade, eager to share liis pursuits and his travels. A daughter of the "Bed Princc"—the hero of lioniggratz—Princess Louise Margaret of Prussia was married at tho age of nineteen, and since the' year 1879, when she came to England, had established herself in the esteem of tho people. Whether at Bagshot Park or at Clarence House, she takes keen interest in everything that concerns the' welfare' of tenant or neighbour. Prince Arthur of Connaught, their only son, follows the profession of arms liko his father. Princess 'Margaret, their eldest, daughter, is the wife of the Crown Prince of Sweden, and is destined to occupy a throne, while Princess Victoria Patricia continues to bo tho constant companion of the Duke and Duchess, both at home and abroad.
