COMMANDANT IN CHRISTCHURCH
' VARIOUS INSPECTIONS. . (By Telesraph—Press Association.) mt; Christchurch, January 30. ■ This morning Major-General Godley, accompanied by Lientenant-Colonel Burnett Stuart and Captain D. C. Spencer fimith and Lieutenant-Colonel Hawkins (ofteer commanding tho Canterbury district). paid a visit, of inspection to tho store at Addiiigton, and to the site of the territorial training camp at Yaldhnrst. In the afternoon the Commandant made an inspection of tho King Edward Barracks, visiting tho harness shop, ,the big gun room, tho orderly rooms, and the armourer's shop. At 3 o'clock ho held a conferencc with local officers rcffdrding the organisation of tho territorial forces. This evening a pnr[u!o Df the North Canterbury territorial forces was hold in the King Edward Barracks and an inspection by the Commandant' who met the officers, and also tho unatl tached officers of Christchurch, and several leading citizens in the nllicors' club-rooms. To-morrow the Commandant will inspect the forts at Lyttelton harbour, and, at 3 p.m., will meet tho Christchurch Scoutmasters.
