DISTINGUISHED CONGREGAV ' TIONALIST. -• By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Rec. January' 27, 10.p.m.) London, January 27. Tho death is announced of Dr. John Brown Paton, M.A., D.D., Emeritus Principal of the Congregational Institute for Theological and Missionary Studies, Nottingham.
Dr. Brown was principal of the Nottingham Congregational Institute from its foundation in 18G3 until his retirement in IS9B. Ho was horn in 1830, and educated in Birmingham and at the University of London. Since his retirement he has vigorously devoted his services to religious and philanthropic movements. He is the founder of religious societies and unions.
