, The Hoino shipping journal "Fairplay" announced recently that the Union. Company had. purchased :a steel screw steamer- with a. deadweight carrying, capacity of SOCIO tons on a draft'of 15ft. lOin. and a length 0f.229ft. 3in. by 35ft; 6iii., with a beam of 16ft." lOJin., at present buildr ing.by tho Antwerp .Shipbuilding Company, Hoboken, near Antwerp, with engines 17in., 28in., and 40in., by 33in. stroke,- by the North-Eastern Marino Engineering Company, Wallsend-on-Tyne. She has two, boilers ilft. Oin. by 10ft. 3in., will steam about 9}. knots, and will be ready for sea about February. The price, including;a largo number of extras, -.is believed to be .£IB,OOO. '.
