A SERIOUS CHARGE.

An alleged criminal assault on a little girl thirteen years of ago was reported at'Foxton yesterday afternoon. It is stated that three girls were walking along the Beach Road when a young man/rushed out from the raupo alongside tho thoroughfare, and seized-ono. of tho -children and carried her into'th'e'-raupo'. .-Tno'maii.threatened to murder tho other two girls, and they made off. Fortunately-a trap came along and the man made_ off. A party of searchers was organised, and tho raupo' was scouredj .was 1 seen, but Jie got clear away. A pocket-book was' found, _ however, and it is hoped this may, give a cluo to the culprit.
