SUJOIARY AND FORECAST. The barometer has risen in tho southern districts, but fallen in the north. The weather has been hazy and humid conditions have prevailed everywhere. Rain set in over the South Island during the night, with moderate to strong southerly winds. Present indications -are for rain in most parts of tho country, especially over tho North Islaud and East Coast of the South. South-easterly winds, strong to gale in parts, . ill probably prevail. The banmeter will probably fall for several hours in tho north, but rise very high in the south.
