Mauawntu I'laxmill Employees' Union has decided to remove its headquarters from'"l'a'ilo'n ' tti'.'l'almerston. The Fahnerston Brass Band rendered an excellent progranimo of music' iti the rotunda in the ( Square last evening. -It. was a beautiful night, and' the nvu'sic was greatly enjoyed by a largo crowd of people who assembled. The Men's Free Social Club inaugurated by Miss Glendinning has proved such a success, and is being utilised to such an extent, that it is considered necessary to secure larger rooms. With this object a committee of ladies has been formed, who will not only endeavour to provide more commodious accommodation, but will also go into the question as to how the club shall bo maintained. At the Salvation Army Barracks last evening, Colonel Knight and Cadet Amy Ilndson wero entertained at ■ a farewell

"social" and supper," tlio former having been transferred to Melbourne, where he will take up. a very responsible position in the organising department. There was a largo attendance of visitors, among them being the' ilayor (Mr. J. A. .Nash), ■/.•ho spoke very'highly of the work of Colonel Knight.
