WANTED! SEPARATE ASSOCIATIONS.
• A SHEEP BREEDER'S CONTEN- 1 HON. . ■ Every winter when the National Dairy Show is in ' progress at Palmerston North various breeders' societies hold their annual meetings, and .occasionally a new association is formed. . , There are the, Jersey Breeders' Association, the Holstein-Eriesian Breeders'. Association,' the Romncy. iiiarsh Breeders' As-, sociation, and so on. All these may not meet at Palmerston North, hut that does not alter the point. . , It must !always be a matter of particular note that while there is a Romney Marsh' Sheep Breedors' Association the only other sheep' breeders' -association which meets there is the New Zealand \lsheej>. Breeders' Association. The; Ronmey'Marsh breeders aro'^the only sheep . breeders in. the Dominion who have formed a separate, association. "A sheeji breeder,.discussing the subject, recently, .said that one. of tho great needs of. breeders was separate associations. i. Ho .contended fiat, the Rom.riey .Marsh men had, been benefited .by forming a distinct association, and. that if benefit accrued to them it 1 would', come to other distinct bodies, providing they..were well worked. ' ' It was not, he said, that he.had anything against the Sheep Breeders' Assor ciation, But it seemed to him thata body of men working together in the interests of one particular breed were likely to bring'that' breed more good than a body of men working in the interests of a number of..breeds. ''He was of opinion tftat at this year's' Winter Show at- Palmerston North' thero would bo additions to the .lists of separate associations. .'.'.Ho'ifelt sure that at .least an effort would be made to promote movements in that direction.
