TRAMWAY RETURNS.
Returns from . the corporation • tramfrays for the week ended January '22; 1911, amounted to £2835 19s. Id. as against £2871 12s. for the corresponding week of last year. Returns in the later period thus-decreased by £35 12s. lid. 'Tho decrease is accounted for by two facts. There was some, bad weather last week, and—a-more important factoid—Anniversary Day iu 1910 fell on. a Saturday, irisido the week under comparison. Anniversary Daybeing observed this year on Monday the returns for tho current week will be unusually heavy, but there is a corresponding diminution in the amount collected during "last week. The amount collected on Monday was £591 6s. 8(1., not including £20 for. special cars. . • . '."
