FURTHER PROTECTION ASKED FOR. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright ' (Rec. January 24, 11.45 .p.m.) Sydney, January 24. An influential deputation has urged upon Mr. Fisher, the Prime Minister, tho national obligation' towards tho aboriginal population, and has asked for tho formulation of a scheme, for the proper and humane treatment of the blacks, particularly in view of the Commonwealth taking over the Northern Territory. Mr. Fisher promised that -suitable' land would bo made availablo as sanctuaries for the blacks, : and that they would be protected from exploitation by his own or any other race, and everything done to . make their, existence happy. •
