Miss Waldegrave, of Pnlmerston, Perth, was. a .passenger by tho' same. vessel. Tho Rev. !•'. C. Long, M.A., late of. Te Ante, Hnwke's Boy, has. noiv entered the mission field at Bombay. Mr. Long is a nephew of Canon-Gould. .
Mr. Leslie D> Coombs, of Dunedin, who is now in London, has received word that he has passed-the final examination of the Royal Institute of British Architects. Mr.. Coombs was educated at the Otogo Boys' High School, and, on leaving there, served as a pupil in a-Dunedin architect's office, later going to Wellington for three years as draughtsman to a well-known architect there. In 1908 Mr. Coombs was elected an associate of the. New Zealand Institute of Architect's.

Lord Glasgow, who as Governor of New Zealand gave the Royal Assent of tho Bill which gavo tho. New Zealand women the vote, is strongly opposed to the principle of woman's suffrage, and has written fc> Lady Jersey, one.of the leaders of. the Women's National. Anti-Suffrage League, that ho is, "convinced that it would be deplorable if ever such a measure became law in this country,"- that he ''welcomes the amalgamation' of the different leagues,'.' and "earnestly Wishes all-success to the ariti-suffrago movement."
