THE BOYS' DEPARTMENT. • For ten days during Christmas a. party of. about half...a : dozen lads, under tho leadershipof. Mr. Mears, spent a.-very pleasant time in camp at Otaki. :Tho weather,-with the exception of one night; was gloriously line. The health of the .boys was splendid, and everything went off without accident. Swimming was tho' main pastime. Before rotiring each night a Scripture lessen was read. Messrs. Howell and Wilder, of Otaki, are to bo thanked for their kindness to .tho Jiyls. On Saturday evening last a very pleasant time was given the lads who wont to ■ Christehiircli at Christmas. Supper was provided, eacli boy. bringing, somo-v thing towards the repast. The purpose of this gathering was to try and form a club within the boys' department, with tho idea of meeting regularly for social and religious betterment. Such a club would bo of great help. Tho opening of the activities of tho boys' department for 1911 will tako'placo 011 Friday, at 8 p.m. It will take tho form of a "social," at which all tho announcements about the year will bo made. They include various indoor competitions, cadets, rifle range, gymnasium, football, Bible classes, 'Easier camps, and- other arrangements. On Friday, January 20, a combined meeting, will. be held, when tile Rev. E. O. Blamires will address boys.
