WANTED A YEAR'S RENT.
. THE Y.W.C.A. CAMPAIGN.. : As everyone knoivs, tlie Young Women's Christian Association is in serious difficulties. An ungallant conflagration .reduced tlffiv assets to nought, robbed them of their official home, and deprived certain members of their worldly goods and chattels. Homeless, the association seeks a shelter—a roof abovo its head—but roofs must be paid for. Such being the case, the Y.W.C. A. has resolved to raise the wherewithal for a year's rent of temporary premises—yet to bo found—and towards that .end is organising an entertainment. whioh will be hold in the Town Hall on February 8 next, under the patronage of her Excellency Lady Islington. An influential committed of ladies.among whom are Lady Ward, Mrs. .T. G. Findlay, Mrs. Wilford, Mrs. Shirtcliffe, Mrs. Newman, Mrs. Bulkley, Mrs. Herdmaii, Miss Coates, and a number of others, has been organised fnr tho conduct of (ho campaign. Her Excellency Lady Islington has very, kindly consented to >cliver an address at the entertainment, and tho Hon. Dr. Findlny and others will also speak. Miss Bertha Miles and a party of ladies and gentlemen will arrango for- half tho programme, and Mr. Wilford, Mrs. Fislicr, and others have also consented to contribute to tho entertainment. .
