FAREWELL SOCIAL.

On Monday evening at the Brooklyn Methodist Church a "social" was held for the purpose of bidding farewell to Mr. and Mrs. Aston and family, on their departure for Greymouth. Mr,. Aston is a trustee of the church, and has officiated as organist since its inception, whilo other members of the family have taken an active part in tho work of the church. Appreciative references were mado by tho Rev. J. R. Clark and others to the value of their services, and each member of tho family was the recipient of a presentation. Songs and recitations wero contributed during tho evening.
