tHE PORT NICHOLSON CLUB. : 'At Armit's rooms last evening a gen«al- meeting of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club was held. There was a good attendance Mr. C. Ward accupying tho chair. Among those present was Mr. Sinton, of. the North Shore Yacht Club, Auckland. Tho business of the evening was the discussion' of the club's programme for the setson, and also the Anniversary Day Regatta programme.: .. ' - I'or the- general handicap races it was resolved that tho course be altered. Theyachts will go twice round the following course: From tho starting line to Halswell Buoy; then to Ngahauranga; thence b marked boat. : I The'chairman spoke on the necessity of having . prize-money ■ and trophies oollected for . regatta day. He stated that he ' did not . wish the clnb itself to have to pay out the prize-money for regatta day. It was decided to have subscription lists printed, arid subscriptions taken up. Mr. J. Kelly moved, that no race be held .on Saturday .next, so as to' enablethe yachts to go up for cleaning, in preparation for Anniversary Day. This motion was negatived on the ground that next Saturday's raco would be the ' ouly opportunity for tho club's new handicapper. to acquire an idea for handicapping purposes. Mr. Kelly also moved "that 'a race bo put- on the programme to take place on a Saturday between March 5 and Easter Monday. The motion w-as carried and it was decided to'leave tho details to tho committee to arrange. The question of fixing a course for the ocean race was left to the committee. For the ladies' race, which takes place on February 25, tho following course was drawn up (to be gone .over twice):—From starting lino "to Halswell Buoy; then to Ngahauranga; then to starting line. It was decided to hold the open day «vents on February 18.
