The "Big Six," as the American*/ packers forming the trust in this coun- v try are known, have been negotiating for . some time with packers elsewhere, and it is now stated that arrangements have almost been concluded for the formation of a gigantic combination with enormous capital and facilities. . It is stated that the 'most important firms in Argentina and in New Zealand . are included in the "deal," and that the -.' largest plants and ranches in both countries are absorbed for the purpose of mak- ? ing the strongest combination ever known.. The reports state that the firms in South ■: America and New Zealand which are join- ' ing the. Trust are, amongst the biggest shippers of meat to Europe. The negotiations have proceeded very quietly, for .- such a combination would, be distinctly, • against the Anti-Trust Act of this coun- • try, and an immediate suit -far its' dissolution would be started by the Govern- ■: ment if the facts warranted such a' proJ ceeding. • -
