Arrangements for the purchaso by the City Council of a strip of the Lyail Bay foreshore from the Crawford Kiato aro Hearing completion, and when- this is acquired the public will bo in possession of a wide strip of land skirting the sea from tho tram terminus to the rocks in the eastern corner of the bay. At present nothing is being done with tho twelve acres at the bay which the City Council received from the Government in part exchange for a portion of Sydney Street-. However, it is probable that in the new financial year somo money will be spent with "the object of placing the reserve in order, and eventually making it 0110 of Wellington's recreation grounds. °
