At a plenary sitting of tho five academies ' composing the' Institute of France, it was decided by 88 votes'to 52 to recommend the academies not to admit women. A few days ago tho Academy of Science nominated Madame Curie, the well-known scientist, at the head of tho list of five professors of physics eligible for election.
