THE NEW PERSISN RAILWAY. An influential group of Russian financiers and public men aro promoting an international company for tho construction of a railway from the Caucasus to Baluchistan, traversing Persia. The sections within Rus-si-in,and British territory ltould he under'the exclusive control of the respective countries. The whole length o? Hie Persian trunk line would be 1100 miles and the cost is estimated at fifteen millions sterling. Tho distance from London ?o Bombay through Alexaridrovo. Rostoff, and Baku is-.fiTOO miles, and the trip of seven days would cost 20 per cent less than the Brim'isi route, which retiuiris twelve and a half days, The , Ba<rdad route would require about twelve days. Commercially tho new scheme would not only give rapid transit between London and Bombay, but would greatly encourage Persian commerce.
