The office was entered through' a window, after fruitless attempts had been made to forco two doors.

Tho burglars ransacked the tills and drawers without getting anything, and then inserted two charges of dynainito in the keyhole of' the strong-room door and blew off the 'fastening, but the leek remained intact.

Tho robbers, evidently alarmed by the noise of the explosion, left the building without any further attempt to finish their work or without securing any booty.

A charwoman in. the morning found the offices full o£ smoke. No arrests have so far been made.
