At. the Smithficld meat markets during 1910 the meat supplied totalled 419,553 tons, including 122,315 tons from.South America, 105,732 tons from Australia, S4.<B torn from the United Kingdom, and M.EC 3 torir, irom Canada and the United States. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLE. The Commerce and Tourists Division of the Department of Agriculture, Commerce and Tourists, has received the following; cablegram from the High Commissioner, dated London, December 31,. 1910:— Mutton'.—The market is quiet. The New Zealand supply in running, short, especially Canterbury. Trade ,is very disappointing, there being only a very nand-to-mouth demand.- Canterbury mutton 10 4id.. and North Island lid. per lb. ■ Quotations are nominal. . ' •Lamb.-Tho market is steady, and theie is a good demand for prime qualny. Alio-, tralian lamb is in large supply, New Zealand lamb, other than Canterbury, 5Jd. nominal; Australian, sd. per lb.
