Invitations have been issued ftr the wedding of Miss . Grace Hnrcourt to Mr. Maurice Gillon, .. which takes place on January 11. Mr. and-Mrs. Whyte and their family, Dr. Gavin, and Miss Douglas (Dilnedin) .are staying at Trentham for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. J. Hannah are staying at the Royal Oak, until their house is finished. Mrs. W. Kennedy and Miss Kennedy have returned from Wanganui. . Miss Kennedy's marriage .will take placo some; time in April. ... .. . Miss Phoebe Myers left on Saturday for Blenheim. From there she will coach •via Kaikoura to Christchurch, thencc proceeding to the Hermitage, Mount-Cook. Miss M. Richmond has gone with a party to the Franz Josef Glacier. Mr. and Mrs. David Fiiidlay have taken a cottage' at Heretaunga for six months, and are at. present-spending the holidays there. 'Mr. and Mrs. Birkett are staying with Dr. and .Mrs.. .Young, at Heretaunga, for the New Year. ' Mrs. W; Turnbull is the guest of Mr. Elgar, Featherston '. ; Mrs. H. Crawford is staying with Mi's. W. Bidwill, at Featherston. : Mr. and Sirs. Arthur Duncan spent New Year with Mr. W. Levin, at Greatford. Mr. T. Young. Mr. J. Tripe, Miss Tolluii'st, Miss G. Ewen, and'.Mr. A. Young left by motor Inst Saturday for New Plymouth, with the intention of climbing Mount- Egmont. Mr. Hoinabrook lias taken Mrs. Johnson's house 1 in Guildford Terrace., Miss Coolie, wlio has been staying with her sister, Mrs. C. B. Russell, left for Hotorua yesterday. ■ • A party of young people,' oiganiwd by Miss Hoyward, of the Hutt, rode over to Wainui yesterday. Miss Olive Godwin. Mr. Bert Gilbert, Mr. Percy, and Mr. Hogue were amongst tho audience at tho ..first performance.of tho "Waltz Dream" last night.
