RIFLE SHOOTING.
— o : THE COLEMAN SHIELD. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Napior, January 2. The annual competition for the Coleman Shield was fired at Roy's Hill Rifle Range to-day. The weather was fine, but. gusty, and a right rear proved tricky. The Napier Guards won the shielcl with 1054 points, Danuevirke Rifles cor&ijjg next witu 1041. The champion belt \vjis- won by Sergeant Ryder of the Hastings Rifles, whose total for the day was 141. The competing teams were the Napier Guards, Danuevirke Rifles, Hastings Rifles, Hawke's Bay Mounted Rifles, Ranfurly Rifles, and Napier Rifles.
