Another woman has won distinction in the world .of science, Mrs. Wilhelma Fleming, who : has just discovered a new star in Sagittarius. ; Sho is attached to the Harvard ' University Observatory, and has for ma"ny years specialised in the detection of stellae novae. ' Like some other eminent American astrono-. mors, Mrs. Fleming is a native of the British Isles, her birthplace being Dundee;'but she has been at Harvard for 30 years, and so long ago as 1887 made her first find of a new star.
