AUCKLAND'S RECORD INCREASE. (By Telegraph—rresa Association.! Auckland, December 23. The phenomenal increase in the output ,ot tho butter factories in tlie Auckland Province this season-is shown ill tho record .consignments for shipment arriving for tlie various vessels leaving for tne Old Countiy. Tho last fortnightly shipment was materially in oxcoss of any previous lot sent forward to tho Home markets, but tho quantity got together to dispatch by tho Coiiiuia ior transhipment to the Taimii at Wellington, to leave on, December 29, is a New Zealand ■ record in butter export. Ttio'shipment will, comprise no fewer than 24,500; boxes, • equal to. 002 tons lcivt., the previous , best being tho consignment of 22,575 boxes by the ltuapeliu earlier in the mouth. XJp to data this season the fortnightly consignments have reached tho substantial total of 8302 tons of butter, as against 2939 tons for tho corresponding period of last year.'. Besides the consignments sent to the Home markets, 984 boxes of the local article havo been exported to the Islands, 100 boxes to South Africa, and '736 boxes to San Francisco. In addition to the large supply consumed locally tho. latest quotation from Homo shows a drop. in. the market prico to 106s. per cwt., and at this price buyers who contracted at lid. per lb. or over are losing.
