Tho newspaper "L'Huinanito" publishes an interview with Mr. LloydGcorge, .British..Chancellor of .the Exchequer, in which the French Republican journals aro criticised, for sympathising with the enemies of Eugiish democracy. Mr. Lloyd-George asked whether the democrats, of Franco had forgotten the Francophile policy of tho past of his party, and referred to his pro-Boer attitude. Speaking of the future, he declared he had "had enough" of being tho plaything of the aristocrats, and tlie Lords' veto would be abolished. v Tho Government, Mr. Lloyd-George added;- would continue to strive for tho limitation of armaments, because militarism and Imperialism were tho great enemies of human progress. A measure for national assurance against sickness and unemployment had been prepared, and tho Government had secured financial resources enabling it to bo incorporated in tho next BudTlie scheme would cost eighteen millions annually.
