Sir,—l am directed by the committee of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Club t» advisa you, as chairman of the Wellington Cricket Association, that my committee thoroughly appreciates the . magnanimous action of your association in waiving its claim to the Basin Reserve for last Saturday, December 17, thus enabling the Wellington Amateur Athletic Club . sports to be held. My committee feels that, but for your sportsmanliko action, our . meeting would have been ■ abandoned.
