The following letter has been Sent to . the Cricket Association by the W.A.A.C., ■ and will no doubt remove the unpleasantness caused by an unfortunate remark made recently:— Wellington, December 19, 1910. Mr. Martin Luckie, Chairman Wellington Cricket Association. Sir,—l am directed by the committee of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Club t» advisa you, as chairman of the Wellington Cricket Association, that my committee thoroughly appreciates the . magnanimous action of your association in waiving its claim to the Basin Reserve for last Saturday, December 17, thus enabling the Wellington Amateur Athletic Club . sports to be held. I am also directed to state that my committee is not iri sympathy with the remarks reported on Saturday,' December 17, as having. been made by Mr. M'Villy, chairman of the local Centre. My committee feels that, but for your sportsmanliko action, our . meeting would have been ■ abandoned.
