PASTEURISED MILK FOR CALVES.
EXPERIMENTS IN HOLLAND. According tto . .the. "Deutsch Laridw Prcssc," experiments llavo! been made with feedinjj •32 calves pasteurised milk with the following result:— "1. There is no deleterious effect observed in practice.
' "2. Tho addition' of salt-.to pasteurised milk is not necessary, rather a harmful effect was observed. "(The calves scoured.) "Tho heating of-the milk to 176 or 185 degrees F. for a short timo seems sufficient to prevent the contagion of tuberculosis (determined by butchering or by the tuberculin test). "It seems also worth noticing'that the calves which weighed most when tho experiment was commenced also made the greatest gain."
