(From Onr Special Correspondent.) A special meeting of the Petono Borough Council will be held on; Thursday to consider a proposal to raise a loan of ,£20,200 for repaying the. following existing loans Street improvement loan, .£7000; gasworlis loan No. *2, <£2000; gasworks loan No. 3, .£8000; drainage and street improvement loan, .61000; Hutt Bridgo loan, ,£500; Hutt Road loan, .£IOOO. It is proposed that the security for the loan' of ,£26,200 shall be a special annually recurring rate of 4 17-2-lth of a penny in the .£ on the unimproved value on the rateable property in the borough with a first charge on the municipal buildings. It is proposed that, the loan shall be for a period of ten years. A resolution will also ba moved to raise a loan of <£12,000 for the purposo of repaying with the available' trust moneys the undernoted existing loans-.—No. 1 gasworks loan of .£BSOO, No. 4 gasworks loan of iSOOO. Tho security is to be a first charge on the gasworks and a special annually recurring rate of one farthing in the' £. The period of this loan is ten' years..
