WELLINGTON HOSPITAL BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. The Wellington Hospital and Charitable' Aid-vßoard-met yesterday, Mr. K, C. Kirk presiding in the absence of tho chairman, Mr. J.' G. W. Aitken,. who forwarded an apology for absence.- Also present were: Miss Richmond ..and Messrs. H. Baldwin, Rev. W. A. Evans, Rev. H. Van Staveren, J. E. Fitzgerald, W. Galloway, B. R.' Gardener, J. Godber, G. T. London, J.W. M'Ewen, G. Nash, D. Mlaren, M.P., F.' T. Moore, D. Robertson, J. Smith, W. Tdmpsitt, and J. Trevor.

The Financo and Property Committee recommended, that the City Council be informed, that the board has no authority to sell the strip of land situated at tho corner of Molesworth-Street and Tinakori Road, required by tho council in connection with tho Wadestown tramway, but 'that the board will facilitate any negotiations for the purpose of acquiring the land under the provisions -of tho Public Works Act. That .the' City Council' bo notified that consequent upon legal opinion • having been obtained to that effect the board considers itself.not liable for rates on the land'upon which the Ohiro Home is situated, and therefore declines to pay same. That tho following accounts, be passed for payment:—Wellington Hospital. .£2102 9s. 4d.j Otaki Hospital, ,£292 4s. 5d.: charitable • aid, ,£3BB Ss. Gd.; head office,-,£193 18s. 7d.; total, .£2977 os. lOd. ■
