The "Imperial Colonist" magazine publishes a report of the conference demanding more adequate protection for women emigrants. ' Mr. Gwynne moved and carried a resolution declaring that tho conference, having received unsatisfactory information about tho method of dealing with emigrants in New South Wales and Queensland, was glad to hear that the Colonial Institute's Committee was prepared to inquire into tho arrangements made by the Agents-General for the safety, and well-being of women.
