PAHIATUA JOTTINGS.
One of our local bowling enthusiasts, Mr. W. ,Tosswill, has presented a set of silver feathers to the Pahiatua Bowling Club, for competition during the present season. The conditions are that each competing rink shall consist ot one senior player and three juniors; The feathers have been presented to the following team:—Messrs. Bissett, Johnson, White-Scott; and Srßratney-(s.),'and a challenge to that quartet has been issued by Messrs. Bargrove, Speir, Savers, and Hewat (s.). ■ At a meeting of the general committee of the Pahiatua-Akitio Agricultural and Pastoral Association, held this week, the following new members were elected:— I'. Bisset (Pahiatua). W. A. St. Clair Inglis (Makomako), W. H. Yule (Pahiatua), L. W. Longmorc (Pahiatua), T. Kuskell (Pahiatua), T. Frero (Pahiatua), J. Aitchison (Mangnramarama), J. Y. Crawford (Ifaugalainoka), D. Falconer (Khinui), J. Falconer ,(Kohinui), J. W. Mills (Pahiatua), S. Smith (Atca), W- C. Brou'ghton (Ifakuri). As a means of popularising the forthcoming show, it was decided to allow agents or manufacturers 'of implements free space on. the ground. Entries for the opening running events in connection with the Mangatainoka sports eloped with the secretary (Mr. F. A. Walsh) this week. , TJio entries in every event exceed those of last year, Iho total being two hundred and thirtyone.
