At 3.30 a.m. yosterday the Tyser Line's steamer Star o{ Canada arrived at Auckland from London, via Melbourne and Sydney. Sho left the .Homo port on October 6. Upon completion of discharge of the northern portion of her cargo the vessel leaves for Wellington, making a call eu route at Napier. She is due here about December 14. ItOTORUA. AT HOBART. . The New Zealand Shipping Co. are in receipt of cabled information from Hobart which announces the arrival at midday yesterday of their now steamer Eotorua, on her. maiden trip from London to Wellington. The vessel has 580 passengers for New Zealand ports:—4s first saloon passengers, 94 second saloon, and 441 thira saloon. The vessel will probably leave Hobart this morning, ana may be expected to put in an appearance at Wellington some timo on Sunday morning nest. WAIMATE AEKIVES AT MELBOUENE. ' Advice received by the local agency of the New Zealand Shipping Company states, that the Waimato arrived "at Melbourne from Montreal yesterday. In continuation of her voyage to Wellington, she makes calls at Sydney and Auckland, being due at the latter port about December 20, and at Wellington a week later.

The Taviuni, which took a cargo of coal from Wostport to Uila.for tho Admiralty, is going to Sydney to' discharge pait of it. Sho is due at Sydney this week, and from thero she will go to Newcastle to load for Wellington. Mr. R. Menjie's (late purser of tho Pultaki, has been transferred to tho Corinna, dub in port to-day from the south. The German Government has offered to pay half the cost (estimated at 6COO marks) of -the installation of wireless telegraphic apparatus on any deep-eea. felling vessel. It is stated that- the new HamburgAmerican liner will be of about 910 ft. in length and 9<lft. beam, 50.W0 tons gross, aud will be fitted with turbine engines to give her a minimum spesd ..of 22 knots. Sho will cost about two millions, and is to be roady in the spring of 1912.
The Kennedy, which left port last niffht for Picton, returns to Wellington on Thursday to load for Nelson and tho coast.

Upon being granted pratiauc this morning, the Manuka, from Sydney direct to Wellington, will berth at tho Queen's Wharf No. 1 north. At 3 a.m. yesterday the Arahura arrived at Westport from Greymouth, and resumed her journey to Wellington via Nelson at 10 a.m. Sho is to leave the latter port at 10 a.m.. this morning, and may be expected here about 9 o'clock tonight. - Between 2 p.m. and 2.20 p.m. yesterday, the two schooners, Clyde and Amelia Sims, cleared Wellington for the Chatham Islands ar.d Lyttelton respectively. Tho former vessel will be away until the beginning of tho New Year. The latter returns to Wellington from Lyttelton with another load of produce. At 5 a.m. yesterday the Rosamond arrived at Wellington from New Plymouth. Owing to ,somo slight repairs being necessary, the ivesscl's departure has been postnoned until 10 a.m. 02 Friday, when .she leaves for New Plymouth direct. It is announced that she will receive cargo on Thursday. , Mr. J. Ritchie,, late 01 the steamer Regulus, has shipped as mato of tho schooner Clyde, vico Captain Watchlin. Messrs. On Sunday next tho Tyscr Line's steamer Ncrehana 13 due in port from Wanganui to complete Homeward loading. It is expected to dispatch her from Wellington for London on Wednesday, December 14.
