At an inquest held to-day touching th'a death! of a man named Wood, who was found dead in the police cells on Saturday morning, it was shown, that deceased " was arrested on Friday night fordruhk-ehut-sS) and ' then had a small cut over the eye, received probably as the result : ol a fall. The post-mortem revealed a. quantity of blood under the skull. There was a growth on the left side of the, brain, and it was concluded that ii blow above the'eye had thrown the brain ' against the growth, and lacerated an artery, resulting practically, in apoplexy, A verdict was returned accordingly.: '■ ' •
