Arrangements Jiaro been made, for William Albany to row Barry for the English sculling championship in-May. ARNST ENTERTAINED. (By Telograph.-Presi Association.) Christchurch, November 30. "Dick" Arnst, champion sculler of the world, was entertained at a social function to-night by a, number of his friends, and was presented with a leather suit-case, with inscribed plate. Arnst leaves to-morrow for Sydney, where ho will go into training for the'big handicap to be rowed towards the end of February in which he will be a competitor. BOWLS. GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AT PLAT. Bowls is a popular game with the Civil Service. No fewer than 56 members of the service were engaged in an all-day match on the Thorudon Club's green, when the redoubtable Post and Telegraph Department completely .routed the rest of the service. An interesting golf match was played on the Auckland Club's links to-day be-' tween two professionals, Herd (Dominion champion) and Hood (Auckland champion), and two amateurs, Burns (Auckland champion) and Colbeck (ex-champion), and was won by the professionals by 4 up and 3 ■ to play..
