Lord'Tenterden has initiated a scheme for .the' purchase of the Crystal Palace as a memorial to King Edward. ' It is proposed' to utilise a portion of the building and grounds as tho headquarters, of a National Aero Corps, placing tho whole place in war timo at the Government's disposal for aeroplaning purposes. Other portions of the place wilt be renrranged as national and colonial exhibitions, for the sale of Home and colonial products, and pleasure gardens. The cost of purchase of the building and its adaptation to tho proposed purposes will' be XGOO.OOO, and a working capital pf .6110,000 will be required.
