KARORI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Tho Ivarori Borough Council held iti usual fortnightly meeting last night. Those present were—the Mayor (Mr. C. I. Dasent), Councillors Spiers, Burn, Wedde, - Hildreth, Sfcanden, Welling, Walmsley, Kaine, and Cathie. A letter Vas received from the Wellington Gas" Company, witli reference to the company , receiving a share of -the lighting of the borough, should gas mains be.laid down. —Received. The Makara County Council wrote, stating 7 that they did riot wish . the lights within the county boundaries ' I continued any longer. A tommunication was read from the Upper, Hutt Town Board, asking whether the council, would ■ i agree to co-operate with' the Upper Hiitfc | Board and tho Petono Borough Council' in forming a deputation to wait upon Sir Joseph Ward with reference to the ' position of local bodies under the hydro-., electrical scheme. After a lengthy <lisenssion it was decided, on the. motion • of Councillor Wedde, to inform the board that members of the council would at-' tend a preliminary, meeting of representatives of the local authorities •to arrange a date and time for the depute tion.
