Crowds of vilb'-gers who were swarming into Astopcwo to view Count Tolstoy's body werexdriven back by mounted police. THE-COUNTESS AMD HER HUSBAND. London, November 21. The St. Petersburg . correspondent of "The Times" states that tho newspapers are angry because outsiders prevented Countess Tolstoy from seeing' lier husband. The latter constantly asked for her, and dictated numerous messages, believing she vras ill at Yasnaya Poliana.
All the privately-owned -.theatres in St. Petersburg are closed, as a mark of mourning.
TRIBUTE BY THE DUMA. St. Petersburg, November 21. The Duma has adjourned after adopting a resolution as a tribute to Tolstoy*, "the glory of mankind." The members of .'the extreme Right opposed the resolution.
