Tho Kaiser, in a speech at tho Benedictine Monastery at Bcuron, declared that tho Twentieth Century had brought ideas' which could only be effectively combated, with tho help of religion. He added: "Tho Crown I wear can only give riie assurance of success if based on the word and personality of Christ. As symbol thereof I havo given a crucifix to the monastery. You must help to strenghten the religion senso inborn in Germans, and. to increase their reverence towards the Altar and the Throne,"
