' Under the Agricultural ami Pastoral Societies Amendment Bill, it is provided that where a society-has sold any land vested.in it (other than land granted by tho Crown for < tho purposes of tho society) that society may. apply the proceeds of the sale in tho payment in whole or in part of any debt or liability incurred prior to tho sale, of the land in respect of-the-purchaser or-acquisition, of other land by tho society. A Bill entitled the Fruit Farms Settlement Bill empowers tho Governor from time to time to. set apart lands (whether ordinary Crown lands) or lands set apart or acquired for the Use of tho Departmont of Agriculture), not exceeding in the aggregate- ten thousand acres, for the purpose of leasing or otherwise disposing for fruit-growing or other agricultural purposes. Lands so set apart shall bo divided into allotments not exceeding seventy-five, acres. Such .allotments, shall be disposed of under Part 111 of the. Land Act, 1008. Not more than one allotment j shall be held by any one person. v
