- '-■■- »-"— — THE KNOX COLLEGE 3?UND. (By Tole^ranh.— Press Association.) Auckland, November 14. The sittings of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand were continued to-day. The Moderator (Rev, J. H. M'Kcnzie) presidedThe Knox College Council -reported that, althou"h additions had been piado to the builiung, the total to the credit of the Endowment. Fund was JC1948 15s, 2d. To this had to be added a bequest of ,£2OO madq to the college by the late, 4fr. Smith, of Green Island. The council regretted that a heartier response to the appeal for an endowment pf .£15,000 tad not been made. This amount 'was absolutely necessary for the developjnent of tho college, The Rev, A. Cameron, in moving the adoption of the report, said that (he college building would cost between .£20,Srs and and it was gratifying to know that, after all expenses lind boen paid, there would ha about ,£3OO in hand. . ' . The report was adopted, and tho Assembly commended the endowment fund to tho members and adherents of the Church, and appointed the Revs. Jae. Chisholm, R. J. Porter, and Messrs. John Ross and \V. Gow, members o£ tho College Council. The first-named three are reappointed, and Mr. Gow is appointed in placo of the , late Dr. Nisbet. Tho report of tho Sabbath Schools Committee called attention to tho growing indisposition of scholars to take part in the Scripture examinations. The report on the gonornl financial statistics was adopted. It showed that the Church revenue had inoreaeed by nearly .£2BOO. The total preaching places now puraboro.3 1243.
